Close to the Medway Tunnel is the campus of the University of Greenwich. The Kent Institute of Art and Design, based in the heart of Medway has established itself as a major learning centre for students from all over the world with most renting in Medway, many through Medway Lettings.

Medway is primarily made up of the five adjoining towns of Rochester, Chatham, Rainham, Strood and Gillingham that in the late 1990's were formally brought under one umbrella and renamed Medway.

Known primarily for its football club, Gillingham has many other areas of interest including The Royal School of Military Engineering Museum at Brompton Barracks. Chatham is the hub of Medway with its central shopping facilities and is currently undergoing a huge programme of regeneration which will turn Medway into a major economic and tourist area. The Historic City of Rochester with its Norman Castle and Cathedral has for many years been a major attraction with the annual Dickens and Sweeps festivals.
